Doctor dies in bike fall

A 64 YEAR old KILKENNY doctor has died in a Dublin hospital following an accident.

Dr Frank O’Dwyer of Thornback Road, Kilkenny City was a keen cyclist. 

He had a fall from his bike while out cycling with a group of fellow enthusiasts.

He was rushed to Beaumont Hospital where he was surrounded by his loving wife and children.

Dr Frank who was Consultant Emergency Physician at St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny City is described as a top class medic who was highly respected and was popular with colleagues and fellow medics.

He is survived by his wife Teresa; daughter Catherine and son Paul; mother Joy; brothers Philip, Joe, Pat and Michael; sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nephews and nieces.

He was predeceased by his father Eamon and brother Paul.

Following 2pm Requiem Mass at St Canice’s Church, Kilkenny today, Sunday,  burial is at St Colman’s Church, Clara, County Kilkenny.
