Brilliant central defender, Ger Dunne was awesome as talented Kilkenny Cats beat off a late, late rally from Wexford in an Alamo-like finish to the Electric Ireland Leinster hurling final.
The teams were level at the break and it was nip and tuck all the way to the line as Kilkenny desperately held on to a two-point lead with Wexicans battering its defences.
A super save by goalkeeper Alan Roche and a desperation clearance by a stubborn rearguard ensured that the Cats clung on for silverware in a cracking final.
It was Kilkenny’s 59th provincial crown and sights will now be firmly set on All-Ireland glory.
