Fort Felled By Glensiders

by Jimmy Rhatigan

THE GAME had similarities to the Battle of the Alamo where General Santa Anna’s troops finally knocked the fort on Davy Crockett and his men.

The defenders of the Alamo were completely outnumbers but put up a gallant fight before honourable defeat.

It was 15 players apiece in the Intermediate League clash between Glenmore and Danesfort but it was the Glensiders  who ruled the roost and were cock of the walk in a decisive 3-30 to 1-10 victory.
