It promises to be a fantastic day for children and all young people to look forward to.
Eight projects will be held in Kilkenny on June 12 for Cruinniú na nÓg, national day of free creativity for children and young people.
The county council has received €15,000 from the Creative Ireland Programme to co-ordinate and deliver a Cruinniú na nÓg Programme here.
The Community & Culture Section of the council invited applications for projects via a public grant scheme, and 8 projects were awarded funding.
These include drama workshops, traditional crafts, growing, cooking and animation. These will be delivered by local theatre groups, the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland and the council’s library service.
All initiatives will be delivered online to adhere to the public health advice and guidance from the HSE and Government, with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic.
